The Public Health Student Alliance (PHSA) and the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health are back to present the 2007 DIVERSITY CELEBRATION! Last year's successful event, formerly known as the CULTURAL DIVERSITY FASHION SHOW, was one of the events put on by public health student groups to help win the Peter Likins Inclusive Excellence award for 2006-2007. You're invited to come see the University of Arizona's students, faculty, and staff model their chique cultural identities on the catwalk. A diverse array of food and entertainment and giveaways add to the evening, creating an atmosphere thriving on acceptance and awareness of global cultures and population diversity.
The show
will be held in the plaza under the Drachman Hall Walkway (the Walkway
of Wellness) at the
University of Arizona on October 19, 2007. (For those of you
mapquesters out
there, the address is: 1295 N. Martin Ave. Tucson, Arizona 85724). The
plaza opens at 5:30 p.m. and the event begins at 6:00 p.m.
Parking on the U of A
campus is available free of charge after 5:00 p.m. Admissions are
$3.00
for U of A students and children under 6 years of age; and $5.00
for general
admissions.

Members of LAGSES will be taking an overnight retreat to a nearby location, either Mt. Lemmon or the Cochise Stronghold. This will last from about noon to noon the next day. For more information contact David.
We will be discussing the LAGSES agenda for this school year and also be introducing our new LAGSES advisory board. Our annual welcome reception will be held in the Tubac room in the Student Union from 7-9pm. Thanks to Dr. Maria Teresa Velez for sponsoring the catering!
LAGSES will be out on the mall today at lunchtime with other student organizations celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with live music and information booths.
