UA Campus Green Party | ||||||
Campus Greens is a national student-based, non-profit organization dedicated to building a broad-based movement for radical democracy on America’s high school and college campuses. We work in solidarity with the Ten Key Values of the Green Party and have membership from all sectors of the campus community and all levels of education. We provide our members with the support and resources they need to become effective agents of social change, empowering them to overcome our world’s gravest problems and build a society based on grassroots democracy, ecology, and non-violence. The University of Arizona chapter of the Campus Greens works to help inform members of the UA and Tucson communities of local, state, national, and global issues that currently exist incongruously with the goals of the party. Campus Greens bring together concerned individuals of all political stripes to campaign for the enactment of sane social and legislative policies at all levels of government. We strive for this primarily by helping to elect Green candidates to public office in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, and beyond. For the '05-'06 school year, the UA Campus Greens have focused our efforts on ten discussion events, each focusing on one of our key values. We'll be having a speaker on campus every other Thursday night at 5:00 to engage UA community members in discussing issues that are important to us at home and abroad. For more information and updates, check our events page frequently. The UA Campus Greens meet weekly to plan future events and decide where to direct our efforts. We invite to our meetings anyone interested in knowing more, volunteering, seeing the political process from a third party's perspective, or meeting other socially-concerned students to make action. If you're interested in attending our next meeting, e-mail Drew to find out where it will be. We hope to see you there. |
