Welcome! Asian American Student Coalition invites YOU to attend the 3rd Leadership Conference for Asian Pacifics, themed REVOLUTION: Experience. Innovate. Alter.  It is a student leadership conference that aims to provide workshops and presentations to formally recognize the concerns and issues of a growing community.

She will be present on Saturday, March 4, 2006 as the banquet dinner keynote speaker of the conference.  She is an APA activist, author (Asian American Dreams: The Emergence of an American People), and journalist, and will be coming to Tucson!  More info here.

This event will be held on campus at the University of Arizona, Tucson (@ the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Building (AME) in Rm. 202) during the weekend of March 4 & 5, 2006.  A series of workshops and open forums will be presented that will revolve around a variety of social, cultural, and personal issues that affect our lives. 

 

Have you ever wondered, “Is everything really okay?”  Take some time out to recognize the concerns you may have or have hidden until now, and become more active!

Who can come?

Everyone is invited to attend!   Students at the UA, ASU, NAU, Arizona community colleges, and Arizona high schools are encouraged to attend!  Out-of-state students are also welcome to attend.  If you need any help getting to Tucson, let us know!  Faculty, staff, alumni, community members are invited too!

 

When is it?

The weekend of March 4 & 5, 2006 (Saturday and Sunday).

 

Saturday, March 4, will begin at 10 AM, with breakfast and registration/check in available by 9 AM.  The day will end by 5 PM to allow time to travel to the restaurant for the banquet at 6pm (see above).

 

Sunday, March 5, will being at 10 AM, with the rooms open by 9:30 AM.  The day will end at 2 PM.

Share your opinions on important issues that affect our lives.  Meet other students who are interested in these topics and network!

 

Where will it be?

On campus at the University of Arizona, Tucson – Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Building (AME).  North of Speedway Blvd., off Mountain Ave.  Main conference room #202.

 

The evening banquet dinner will be held at Rose Garden Chinese Restaurant (1800 E Fort Lowell Road, Tucson AZ 85719 – SW Corner of Ft Lowell and Campbell, behind Blockbuster).  It is scheduled to start at 6pm and will run until 9pm.  Tickets may still be bought at the door for $40.

 

How do I register?

Register now!  The deadline is February 24, 2006.  Forms can be found here.  We offer a $15 pre-registration package which will provide meals on Saturday, including an off-campus banquet dinner, in addition to conference materials.  This package will be offered at the door for $20.  Conference workshops and discussions are open to the public.  Requests for participant fee waivers will be considered; please send a brief description in an email to:  aasc.online@gmail.com
