Amnesty International's Position on Boycotts and Divestment

In general, Amnesty International does not support boycotts. In the history of Amnesty International, a boycott or divestment campaign has never been undertaken. Amnesty believes that boycotts are seldom effective, and in some cases may result in new human rights problems. Amnesty recommends using shareholder activism, as an alternative to boycotts and divestment, to achieve change.
