Capoeira Club!

Capoeira is a Brazilian Martial Art that combines elements of acrobatics, dance, music and rhythm into an amazingly unique, powerful and beautiful art form. This art focuses on challenging its members physically, mentally and musically; yes music is also a very important part of Capoeira. This mixture of disciplines creates a a supportive atmosphere were students grow not only physically, but culturally as well.

The Capoeira Club of the University of Arizona is a Culture/Sports club that works together with Capoeira Mandinga Tucson to help influence the UA Student population of the importance of Brazilian culture and the Art of Capoeira.

Batizado -

Every year we hold a Batizado, or in english a "baptism", where new students receive their first belts and more experienced members move up in rank and gain a new color belt. These events usually last 2-3 days, and include many different workshops with invited capoeira Mestres, Contre Mestres, Professors, and Instructors.  Club members get a a savings of $20 - $35 per club member.   The scale is because there is a base $20 discount plus a possible $15 savings depending on fundraising efforts of the member.

Second, Extra Trainings!

If you become a Capoeira Club of the UA Member and take part in the Capoeira Activity Classes at the UA Rec. Center, you are able to have an extra day of training every week (Fridays from 4 - 5:30pm). This is a great way to practice moves and sequences from class, or to experiment with new moves, all in a more informal setting.
