shift begins at 8 AM, meet at the flagpole at 7:30 AM)
?       You will receive at $5 food voucher good for many of the ethnic food booths
at the fair when you volunteer

?       Volunteer with faculty, staff, and other students to help improve the Tucson
community

o       Family Weekend Fundraiser
?       During Family Weekend (Friday, October 19, 2007 and Saturday, October 20,
2007) we will be selling teddy bears in front of the Chemistry building for $10
?       If you are going to be on campus that weekend, please sign up to man the
booth
?       For each fundraiser you participate in, you receive one active member point!
?       Club Recruitment
o       Family Weekend Club Fair
?       During Family Weekend (Friday, October 19, 2007 and Saturday, October 20,
2007) we will have a booth on the mall to spread awareness of CKI and recruit
new members
?       If you are going to be on campus that weekend, please sign up to man the
booth
?       Fall Rally ? Jennifer Phillips
o       Each fall, CKI members are invited to attend Fall Rally, a district event that
takes place at Kamp Kiwanis in Vanderwagon, New Mexico.  This year it will be
held from Friday, October 19 through Sunday, October 21 and the theme is
?Sentenced to Service? ? a prison theme.  If you are interested in going,
the cost is $45 dollars, which includes lodging and food for the weekend, and
you must mail your registration materials by this Friday.  We were fully funded
by ASUA for two vans to drive to New Mexico.  We will probably be leaving campus
by 1 PM on Friday so that we can get there around 8 PM.
?       Member Buddies
o       Are you eagerly awaiting your member buddy (a board member or someone who has
been a member of CKI for a couple of years who you can go to for specific
CKI-related questions or concerns)?  Well, wait no longer.  Member buddies are
coming?soon.
?       T-Shirts
o       T-Shirts are $12.  The money is due to Jordan this week.  Remember to tell
Jordan your size when you sign up!
?       Active Member Ceremony
o       We had 28 active members for August/September out of 68 dues-paid members!  On
top of that, we completed over 350 hours of service as a club so far this year!
Way to go!
o       Our Member of the Month, is John Wurth, who is not only a very active member,
but he was an invaluable asset for recruitment during orientation over the
summer!  Congratulations, John!
