The formation of Hong Kong Student Association marks a new era for the community of Hong Kong students in Tucson. Our goal is to provide a friendly and familiar environment in which Hong Kong students, and other interested individuals, can enjoy the local community to the fullest extent. The transition from the familiarity and comfort of home to an entirely new country with different customs, it is kind of scary. We also realize that many new students find it very difficult to ask questions and explore the culture with these new surroundings. That is why we formed the group, in hopes of easing the change between two very different worlds: Hong Kong and Tucson. Not only do we will help each student who is having trouble adjusting to U of A in every possible way, but also to organize some fun in this desert city is a challenging task for any individual. Hopefully, our collective powers will help us avoid the fate that has fallen upon so many other students here: exploring the Internet on Friday nights.
