Meeting 1: September 2nd

Officer Intro: Jaime Campos, President. Saman Nematollahi, Vice President. Tulika Balagopal, Secretary/Treasurer. Jessica Crain, Program Coordinator. Nick Jones, Public Relations.

What is HSC?: HSC is a multi-faceted organization that offers leadership opprotunities, philanthropy, policy changes, etc.

Member status: Active Members are those who attend 1/2 of the total meetings and one fundraising event. To run for office members must maintain this status and attend TWO fundraising events.

Ice Breaker: People Bingo

Meeting time changes: Students in the Honors College interested in HSC expressed concern that Tuesdays were not good days to have meeting and that they would prefer Wednesday meetings.

Meeting 2: September 10th

Commitee Chair elections: Members of HSC interested in being committee chairs gave 30-60sec speeches. The winners were: Lynette Guzman (Historian Committee), Clarissa Sema and Zach Franklin (Philanthropy Committee), Aqib Zehri (Publicity Committee), Josh Turkeltaub (Fundraising Committee), and Ashley Turkeltaub (Programming Committee).

Ice Breaker: lymeric hunt

Announcements: Percentage Night next Wed (17th) 6-9pm at La Salsa go to the register closests to the door, Middle School Tours, Movie help, and water bottle sales.

Meeting 3: September 17th

Announcements: Percentage Night, water bottle sales, football game, and website.

Ice Breaker: "Never have I ever..."

Committee Meetings: Members chose a committee for which they felt interested in joining. Within each committee a sign up sheet was passed around and goals for the semester/year were discussed.

Fundraising Committee: A barbeque social for all the Honors College where students can interact and buy a plate of food for a relatively small price (i.e. Hamburger, Chips, Drink for $3).

Philanthropy Committee: Casa de los Ninos on Oct. 4th, Ronald McDonald House soon. Other ideas include: Ben's Bells, blood drive, various charitable walks.

Historian Committee: Make a scrap book detailing the last several year. Possible slideshow/digital scrap book as well. Group picture to be taken as soon as t-shirts are made.

Programming Committee: AIDS Walk soon, Movie Night to be scheduled and organized soon, Water balloon fight in April.

Publicity Committee: Pamphlet to be constructed soon. Take over of website to add new pages and options of interest.

Meeting 4: September 24th

Announcements: Water bottle sales, football game, Casa de los Niños, AIDS Walk.

Ice Breaker: Human knot

Committee Introduction: Sarah Rios introduced her Sustainability concept and made it into a committee. Asks those interested to email her at rioss@email.arizona.edu. Her ideas include a container garden in the Honors College courtyard and a recycling campaign.

T-shirt concept discussion: Chose the color as charcol grey with a light grey font. Back will contain the UA logo with an Honors College subtext. Front left breast will say Honors Student Council "the collective voice for honors students." Did not like the Old Main running across the bottom left side. Top 4 choices for the side design include: paw prints going up the side, side view of a real wildcat, landscape containing "A" mountain, and a claw scratching with scratch marks. Choices will be voted on.

Meeting 5: September 30th

Announcements: Honors Convocation, and football water bottle sales.

Committee Introduction: Those with ideas and concepts are welcome to present them at any time.
