Planning for College Success (PFCS)

What Is PFCS?

Nationally:

"The Planning for College Success program (PFCS) illustrates what it means and what it takes to go to college by connecting NSCS members and middle school students from their local community.

Surveys have found that more than 90 percent of secondary school students aspire to go to college, yet do not prepare for college academically or financially early enough to be successful.

Participating in a mentoring relationship with middle school students, NSCS members play an important role, helping students plan for their post-secondary education and see the link between their studies and their future. This is accomplished through school assemblies, mentoring and March to College Day." -From the national website at www.nscs.org

The University of Arizona Chapter:

PFCS is a year long project that each strives to promote awareness about college to middle and high school students, and help them start on a path now that will lead them to college. We are dedicated to providing outreach to our community youth in preparing for higher education through tutoring and personal mentoring.
