REASONS TO TAKE THE EIT/FE EXAM:

1). It gives you the right to publicly represent yourself as an engineer.
2). You get the opportunity to work as a consultant.
3). It gives you the respect of engineering profession.

4). It gives you the recognition that you have the necessary academic and professional experience to practice in the engineering profession.
5). Once registered by the exam, you can usually obtain, by reciprocity, the right to practice in other states.
6). It adds value to you in the job market.

ELIGIBILITY TO TAKE THE FE EXAM:

SIGN UP ASAP!

-Seniors within one year of graduation.
-Registered in an accreditation board for engineering and technology (ABET) accredited engineering or engineering technology program (Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Department at The University of Arizona is accredited).
-Computer Science and IDIS Majors are not eligible to sit for the FE exam.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR THE FE EXAM:

1. Get the application form from the Arizona Board of Registration website www.btr.state.az.us, or pick it up in Room 200 at Old Engineering Building.
2. If you plan to pick it up at Old Engineering Building, go to step 3. If you go to the website, browse through the left menu until you find "Applications". Go to "In training/Forms". Print out the form. (note: You need Adobe Acrobat to view the form)
3. Get the form notified at the Dean's Office located in the first floor of the Civil Engineering building.
4. Send your form with a check for $30.
5. The board will send a letter to notify if you have been accepted. (note: It might take a month to receive it)
6. If you have been accepted, register through NCEES (National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying). You can do this online at www.ncees.org.
7. Click on the AZ link on the right side of the website. Scroll to the bottom of the website and download the registration form.
8. Send your form with a check for $125.
