I played on the original Scorch team, back when we were 8 players and couldn't even get fields from Campus Rec. We used to practice on the mall north of McKale, competing with pickup soccer players for field space.
As a former captain of Scorch, it's been especially gratifying for me to see how much the team has grown in numbers, competitiveness and experience. Scorch - you've come a long way baby!
I'm currently finishing up my PhD in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences and am loving the fact that I'm back playing club women's ultimate (on blAZe) after a couple years of coed. And I'm looking forward to playing on that Scorch reunion team...
