April 4-5, 2009! This year we are again offering an omnium format combining the UA criterium and the Tumacacori road race. Come to Tucson, race the exciting UA criterium Saturday and follow it up on Sunday with the most difficult one day road race in the state.

This one-day road race is on a circuit course known as "The Old Districts' Course" 58 miles south of Tucson, Arizona. The race winds around a 6-mile loop with climbs, rollers, descents and corners. It provides 460 feet of vertical climbing per lap. A King/Queen of the Mountain prize will be announced for the second wave fields at the start line.

* Junior men and women race together and are scored separately.

Check In: Check-in and Onsite registration opens at 8:00 AM for the Criterium. Criterium registration closes 30 minutes prior to event. Road race registration closes as listed.
Pre-Registration postmarked by 3/26/09. Online registration closes 11PM PST April 01, 2009
Late fees: $5 late fee after 3/26/09

Schedule of Fees:

Race will be held rain or shine. Helmets are required. Promoter reserves right to combine or eliminate categories. On Sunday yellow line rule will be enforced. No parking in the feed zone! Riders from the first wave finish on same lap as cat 4 Men finish. Dropped Riders may be pulled. DO NOT TRESPASS ON RESIDENT’S PROPERTY, INCLUDING HOSE BIBS!!!

Saturday April 4, 2009: Criterium Information

Lapped riders may be pulled; pulled riders will scored, abandoned riders will not be scored. Categories may be combined or separated depending on field sizes. Cash and Prizes will be announced prior to race as we are still confirming sponsors at press time.


Sunday April 5, 2009: Road Course Information

Categories may be merged or separated. Abandoned riders will not be scored

Cash/Prizes for KOM/QOM will be announced at the start


Directions & Course Map: UA Criterium

From Phoenix: Take I-10 south to Tucson. Take exit 257 Speedway Blvd. Turn left (east) on to Speedway Blvd. and proceed to Mountain Ave. Turn right on Mountain and right on to Helen. Parking is the first right turn on Helen. (map of criterium course is pending course approval by University of Arizona – stay tuned)

The University of Arizona Cycling Club presents the 3rd Annual University of Arizona Criterium on the campus of the UA. The L-shaped course features lots of great corners and false flats to make for a fun and exciting race. Located right in the heart of the UA campus in central Tucson, the course is minutes away from the University Ave. businesses and Downtown Tucson. Come join us for a great Saturday criterium and a tough Sunday road race, as the UA Crit is part of a two-day omnium event held in conjuction with the Tumacacori Road Race. From Tucson take I-19 South to exit 17. Proceed east (left) on Rio Rico Blvd to Pendleton. Turn North (right) proceed 7 miles to Start/Finish….If the road turns to dirt you have gone to far. Turn back ¾ mile to S/F.
