My name is Crystal Kynard-Amerson and I am pursuing a Master's Degree in Public Health. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and attended San Francisco State for my undergraduate studies. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology in 2006. I worked for three years at one of the nation's largest nursing registries, Nurse Finders, Inc. I am finishing up my first year here at the University of Arizona and finally adjusting to the heat!

Hi! My name is Tiffany Hebb. My hometown is Washington, D.C. Currently, I'm studying Animal Sciences in the area of food safety. I have many career aspirations that change as I continue learning, and I hope to continue to explore the many areas of animal and related sciences while conducting research.

Tiffany is a pursuing a Master's Degree of Public Health in Epidemiology. She is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. Her career goal is to reduce health disparities associated with chronic diseases in vulnerable and minority populations. She came to Tucson as an intern in the summer of 2008 as a participant in the Summer Research Institute (SRI) and has returned to obtain her Master's degree.

Shara D. Mayberry is a native of Richmond, Indiana. Upon graduation from Richmond High School, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tennessee State University in 2000 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2004. She is certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the American Nurse Practitioners, the American Public Health Association, and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Hey there. My name is Dee Hill Zuganelli. I'm a third-year Ph.D. student in sociology, and I am proud to be this year's Public Relations Chair. I study race, politics, and community mobilization. My Masters thesis was a quantitative analysis of appraisals of adolescent emotional health based on perceptions of social supports. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing video games, and hanging out with friends.

Candice is a Ph.D. student in the Soil, Water, and Environmental Sciences Department studying contaminant transport. She is a native of Durham, North Carolina and holds one BS degree in Biology (UNC-Greensboro, NC) and one in Environmental Science from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in Durham, North Carolina. She also obtained a MS degree from NCCU in Earth Science. Her career goal is to develop remediation plans for Superfund or hazardous waste sites in the private or governmental sectors. Her experience working at the US EPA doing analytical method development of pesticides has fueled her desire to do environmental work. When free time exists she enjoys a cool day on the golf course or as some of you have experienced, her various forms of "therapy" (red velvet cupcakes or banana nut bread). Candice's biggest passion is doing youth outreach through tutoring and mentoring. She believes the next generation deserves the knowledge and wisdom passed on by previous generations and that it does take "a village to raise a child". (Maybe she should have gone into education? Now that's a thought!)
